The coastline has mangrove trees, volcanic rock cliffs and beaches while the interior abounds in jungle. The island has a tourist resort. Its totally off the main tourist track and its a hiding place to get away from the busy world and live a "Robinson Crusoe". The island was used as quarantine station when the first Indian indentured labourers arrived in the Leonidas.
